John Terry criticizes Tuchel for his behavior towards Spence at the 2026 World Cup

John Terry, the former England captain, criticized coach Thomas Tuchel for his behavior towards defender Jed Spence during the 2026 World Cup. Speaking on the “Piers Morgan Uncensored” program, Terry expressed his dissatisfaction with the way Tuchel dealt with Spence, noting that at one point during the match, Tuchel seemed to direct his undue pressure on the young defender.

Terry said: "I don't know if you saw that moment, when Tuchel attacked him hard during the match after one of the throw-ins. I felt that he was taking out all his anger on Spence. After that incident in training, it seems that it was not a coincidence. This does not seem right to me. I have great respect for Tuchel, and I consider him a world-class coach, but when I see such behavior, the question comes to my mind: Would he have spoken this way if Trent Alexander-Arnold had been in his place? Spence? I guess not."

The England national team qualified for the round of 16 of the 2026 World Cup after defeating the Democratic Republic of the Congo 2-1, and will meet in the next round with the Mexican national team, where the match is scheduled to take place on July 6 at 3:00 Moscow time.
