Afonso Moreira's move to Bayer 04 is approaching
It is expected that an agreement will be reached between Olympique Lyonnais and Bayer 04 regarding the transfer of Afonso Moreira, as no official offer has been made yet, but the deal could exceed 30 million euros with incentives.
An agreement is expected to be reached between Olympique Lyonnais and Bayer 04 for the transfer of left winger Afonso Moreira within the next week. Although no written offer has been made from the German club yet, there are strong indications that a deal has been completed.
Since Bayer 04's interest in Moreira was announced, reports about the deal have increased dramatically. There has been talk of an offer worth €32 million including bonuses, but the player appears to be showing some reluctance to move to Leverkusen, while Olympique Lyonnais, facing financial pressure, seeks to persuade the Portuguese to accept the move.

Both clubs appear to be interested in a quick solution, and are hoping to finalize the deal next week. Although Bayer 04 has not yet submitted a formal offer, expectations indicate that an agreement may be reached soon.
The transfer package will be greater than €30 million, with the base value expected to be less than that. Initially, Lyon was asking for a sum of no less than 40 million euros. However, the French are under pressure to generate significant transfer income before the end of June, which is why they have decided to make Moreira part of the operation. The player moved to Lyon from Sporting Lisbon for two million euros in the summer of 2025, and Lyon must send 20% of the transfer profits to the Portuguese club.
Moreira, who spoke with new Bayer 04 coach Carles Martinez, appears to be not opposed to the idea of a move to the Bundesliga, which increases the chances of a deal.
