Chelsea is close to completing the deal for the best defender in the Italian League for 50 million euros

London club Chelsea is preparing to complete the transfer of defender Marco Balestra from Atalanta, according to what was reported by famous journalist Fabrizio Romano on the social network. Reports indicate that Chelsea will offer 50 million euros, with the possibility of the deal exceeding 55 million euros with some bonuses.  There has been previous interest from Inter Milan in the player, but it appears that the Italian club are not ready to compete with the offer from Chelsea. Palestra is expected to receive final approval from his current club soon. During last season, the 21-year-old Palestra played on loan at Cagliari, where he performed outstandingly, earning him the title of best defender in the Italian League for the 2025/2026 season. The player achieved one goal and four assists during 37 league matches.
