The Italian club Frosinone announced the sale of 80% of its shares to the American company Clara Vista, after the team was promoted to the Italian First Division this summer. President Maurizio Sterpi has sold most of his shares, with the value of the deal estimated at approximately 41.5 million euros, which will enable the club to invest money in improving the infrastructure and strengthening the team's ranks.

The Sterpi family has been associated with Frosinone for a long time, with Benito Sterpi assuming the presidency between 1965 and 1967, and then his son Maurizio assuming the presidency since 2003 after a period of bankruptcy. With the sale of 80% of the shares, Stirby will retain 20% of the club and continue in his position as president for at least two years.

Commenting on the deal, Stirby said: “With the sale of Clara Vista, we can inject new cash into Frosinone. I will remain president for two years, and Rosario Zuino will take over as CEO. Bob Gould, Charlie Lambropoulos and Wells Hapworth will be members of the board of directors. This is not a short-term deal, as we will sit down after two years to develop a future plan for the club.”
