Folarin Balogun: “It's an incredible event” after the win over Paraguay

Folarin Balogun, striker of Monaco and the United States national team, expressed his happiness after winning the first round of the 2026 World Cup, where his team achieved a huge victory over Paraguay with a score of 4:1. Balogun scored two goals during the match, confirming that this event was a dream come true for him.

"It's an unbelievable event," said Balogun. "It was an amazing evening, and I've dreamed of this for a long time. I decided to play for the United States, and part of that was because I wanted to play in the biggest arenas and I wanted to give something back to the fans. Playing in front of our fans in a home World Cup means a lot to me. I'm very happy and proud of everyone. It was very important for me to get over the nerves before the first match, and we did that. I'm sure it will benefit us."

The United States participates in Group D of the 2026 World Cup alongside Paraguay, Australia, and Turkey, with the major event being held from June 11 to July 19 in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
