During his time playing with the German team, he participated in 45 matches, during which he scored 5 goals and provided 12 assists. He also represents the Ivory Coast national team, and participated in the last World Cup.

After joining Newcastle, Touré said via the club's official channels: "I am very happy to be here. It has always been my dream to play in the Premier League with a big club like Newcastle. Newcastle is like family to me, and this will help me give my best performance on the field. I am also very much looking forward to playing for the first time at St. James' Park."
