What is Connections: Football Edition? Connections: Football Edition is a new daily puzzle for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, designed for players to find connections between 16 words on the game board. The goal of the game is to group sixteen words or items into four groups of four based on similarities within each group as quickly as possible. You are allowed to make three mistakes, but if you fail the fourth, the game ends and the answers are revealed. Each puzzle has only one solution, so be careful of words or items that may appear to belong to multiple categories!

Examples of categories:

• Teams participating for the first time in the 2026 World Cup: Cape Verde, Jordan, Curacao, Uzbekistan
• Kicks ____: point, kick, penalty kick

Each set is assigned a color, revealed as it is solved, ranging from easy (yellow) to medium (green) to difficult (blue) to very difficult (purple). Of course, the rankings of these groups may be subject to interpretation, so you may solve a harder puzzle before you solve an easier one!
