Newcastle United coach Eddie Howe expressed his uncertainty about the future of team captain Bruno Guibara, in light of Arsenal's interest in signing him. Howe confirmed that he had held positive talks with Guibara, but could not offer any guarantees about his future.

According to press reports, Arsenal is preparing to make an offer worth 70 million pounds to obtain the services of the Brazilian player, but Newcastle does not want to lose their star.

"He's good at taking first touches and creating options while playing in possession," Weiss said. "He's good at reading the game and very comfortable with the ball in tight spaces. He's a midfielder with a Dutch flair, but he should also focus on his development points, which definitely include the defensive side. He should improve in physical competition, spend more time in the gym. I know he's working on that, but he can and should improve."

Newcastle have changed their strategy this summer, targeting players aged 20 or under, with an emphasis on players coming from the continent. All the new additions, including Sture, Bamba and their teammates Eoin Gawain and Bazouman Toure, will need patience.

All of these reasons make Howe very much want to keep Gubara, especially after losing Isaac, Tonali and Anthony Gordon last year.

Howe said: "We should all be supportive of the players who have come in. I don't think we can put too much pressure on them. Part of my job is to try to take the pressure off them and let them develop and enjoy their time here."
