With this decision, Balogun will be able to play in the 8th round match of the 2026 World Cup against the Belgian national team scheduled for July 7. The 2026 World Cup will be held in the United States, Canada and Mexico from June 11 to July 19.
Argentina is considered the defending champion after its victory in the final over the French team in the Qatar 2022 World Cup on penalties 4-2 after the match ended 3-3.
