Sports analysis platform Opta has issued an update to its predictions on teams' chances of winning the 2026 World Cup, which is being held in the United States, Mexico and Canada. After the end of the first round of the group stage, the predictions show that France is the most likely to win the tournament, with their odds standing at 15.73%.
In second place was the England national team with a rate of 12.33%, followed by the Argentina national team with a rate of 12.28%. The top ten list also included Spain (12.08%), Germany (6.43%), Portugal (5.94%), Brazil (5.37%), Norway (4.68%), Netherlands (3.06%), and Colombia (2.80%).

It should be noted that there are three teams - Haiti, Curacao, and Jordan - that did not show any chance of winning the tournament, as they received 0% in the predictions.
The 2026 World Cup runs from June 11 to July 19, and the top three teams have all won in their first-round group stage matches.
