A friendly match ended between the national teams of Colombia and Costa Rica as part of preparations for the 2026 World Cup, which will be held this summer in the United States, Canada and Mexico. The match was held at El Campin Stadium in the Colombian capital, Bogota, where the Colombian team achieved a comfortable 3-1 victory.
Colombian defender Davinson Sanchez scored the first goal in the 17th minute of the match after a wonderful pass from the team's winger Luis Dias. Seven minutes later, Dias added the second goal himself, increasing the hosts' lead, with an assist from former Dynamo and Moscow player, Jorge Carrascal.

In the 33rd minute, Costa Rica midfielder Andre Soto managed to reduce the deficit by scoring a goal, but in the 81st minute, striker Luis Suarez added the third goal to confirm Colombia's victory.
Colombia is preparing to participate in Group K during the 2026 World Cup, where it will face Portugal, the Republic of the Congo and Uzbekistan, while Costa Rica was unable to qualify for the global competition.
