Nagelsmann backs Tyrrell in his criticism of photographers' excessive close-ups during the World Cup

Germany coach Julian Nagelsmann has expressed his support for England coach Thomas Tyrrell, who has previously complained about photographers getting too close to the coaching staff before the start of matches at the 2026 World Cup, making it difficult to see how players are performing their national anthem.  In his statements, Nagelsmann said: "I don't know if we can really complain, but I agree with Thomas Tyrrell. Performing the national anthem is a very emotional moment. It is an opportunity to communicate with the players. During Bundesliga or Champions League matches, photographers also stand close to the bench, but here they are very close. Their large lenses seem to capture even my nose hair from a centimeter away," according to what RMC Sport reported.
