Eintracht Frankfurt announced the extension of the contract of the team's defender Timothy Chandler on Thursday, signing a new contract that extends until 2027. With this, Chandler, who is one of the team's pillars, enters his thirteenth consecutive season. The club's director of football, Timo Hardung, said: "Timmy is an important player for us in many aspects and is a valuable member of the team," noting that "his professional attitude makes him a role model for the youngsters in the team."

Although Chandler only made 11 minutes of action during the 2025/26 season, with those minutes coming in his last match against VfB Stuttgart, he has proven himself in the friendlies he has played with lower-level teams. He also contributed to achieving the requirement for local players in the German League.

"Everyone knows how important Eintracht Frankfurt is to me. This club is my sporting home and my family," Chandler commented. He confirmed that he is in good physical condition and that he feels at his best. Since joining the club in 2001, Chandler returned to Frankfurt in 2014 after a spell with the US National Team, where he made 29 appearances.

“We've had a tough season, and my heart and mind say I'm not done here yet,” Chandler explained. He added that he is looking forward to working with new coach Adi Hutter to restore the team's strength and achieve success again. He also indicated that he discussed with the club management the possibility of entering new areas of work within the club after his retirement. Although he predicted that the 2026/27 season could be his last as an active player, he added off the record: “But in the world of football, you never know.”
