Inverness CT dream big after dark days - watch BBC Scottish Championship match with Partick Thistle - BBC Sport.

In less than 12 months, Inverness Caledonian Thistle have gone from being a Scottish Premiership club in administration to one of the likely candidates for a return to the Premier League. Scottish football legend, James McFadden, pointed out that they are among the teams to watch this season during the first live Championship match on BBC Scotland.

Although some coaches may fear the pressure such expectations can impose, Caley Thistle coach Scott Killacher is excited ahead of Friday's home game against Partick Thistle, which will be broadcast by BBC Scotland. "I thought to myself, 'Well done, Fadi!'" Kilacher said. I can give him his due, he's always a positive person and I like that. We want people to come to matches and get excited. We want them to look forward to the match, and not get bored. This is what we offer. We want to be a fun, attacking team. We want to keep them on the edge of their seats. When Fadi said that, I thought, “That's a really nice comment.”

Killacher have made a solid, if unexciting, start to the tournament so far. They played two matches against two of the teams that were in the Premier League play-offs last season, Dunbermain Athletic and Arbroath, with both matches ending in a 0-0 draw. However, it is a small miracle that Inverness Caledonian Thistle continue as a team in their own right after financial problems threatened the club's future. Despite being hit with a 5-point penalty last season for going into administration, Killacher, with the help of Billy McKay, succeeded in leading the club to the First Division title after local businessman, Alan Savage, took the reins behind the scenes.

Kilacher has full appreciation for the efforts made by Savage in bringing the club back from the brink of collapse. “I can't praise this guy enough,” Kilacher said. He has special ways of dealing with everything. It lets Billy and me do our jobs. We have a small meeting once a week to make sure everything is okay, do we need something? If so, what do we need, can we help? There are no problems, only solutions. Everyone in the club is grateful to him for coming and giving everyone a new life.

Killacher is fully aware that his side face a big test of their credentials on Friday evening against a Partick Thistle side who look like major favorites to win the Championship. Mark Wilson's side have won two out of two matches so far, without conceding a single goal. They also narrowly lost 1-0 away to Herets in the League Cup. While Caley Thistle did not fare well in the capital on Sunday, they were 2-1 up at Hearts at Tynecastle before suffering a heavy 6-2 defeat. So is there really a chance of fulfilling Caley Thistle's redemptive fantasy this season and achieving double promotion?

Kilacher said: "I said to the players on Sunday, and I say to the fans - be a dreamer. Why not? What do you have to lose? I've always admired the model of John McGillin, how he managed to achieve that with the team [Falkirk] that he had. He managed to do it, and that was amazing. If we have the opportunity to do it, I think it would be an amazing achievement in terms of where we have come from and the rainy days. I won't let myself get carried away. I'm trying to stay realistic. But I'm telling the players, go for it. And dream of achieving something like that. Why not? What's stopping you from being the best you can be and being on top at the end of the season?
