Adeyemi, who has worked with Flick at international level, explained that the German coach did not need to convince him much to join the team, saying: “Persuasion is the wrong word. He just called me and asked me if I wanted to come. I told him of course, because this is the biggest club in the world and these opportunities do not come again. He did not need to convince me. I have trusted him for a long time, and I have great respect for him.”
The winger is aware of the strong relationship between him and Flick, and hopes that this relationship will help him shine at Camp Nou. Adeyemi added: “I hope he sees in me what I can add to the team on the field. He knows me well from the national team and we are very close.”

Adeyemi was no stranger to facing Barcelona, having faced them in the Champions League in 2025, an encounter he remembers well. "Wow. It's one of the best games you can play. You're playing against a great team, a great club, and you're always motivated when you play against the best. Those two games were really tough, but we enjoyed them," he recalled.

His ambitions go beyond his hopes of returning to the German national team, something he believes depends entirely on his performance. "I think so, but in the end I have to prove it on the field. Only I can decide whether I will return to the national team or not. I am convinced that if I play well, I will be there," he explained.
Adeyemi also described the type of player Barcelona is getting, highlighting his versatility, which he feels sets him apart. "Of course I have speed, but I also have other things to contribute to the game: I'm good in one-on-one situations, I can play on the wing, as a center forward. I think I'm versatile and that's what makes me a little different."
As for next season, the winger is dreaming of big things, with his sights set on one award in particular after disappointing in the past. "Of course, my dream is to win the Champions League. I was close to that, but we lost, and that is my dream. This is what I work for every day," he concluded.
