Luca Matteassi takes over as sporting director of Chivo Verona

Chivo Verona today announced the appointment of Lucia Mattiasi as the club's sporting director. This decision comes after a long and successful career in the world of football, where Matthiasi began his sporting career as a professional player in several clubs, including Piasica Calcio, Spezia Calcio, Novara Calcio and Fortitudo Verselli.

He began his managerial career in the 2017/18 season as director of the technical area at Piasica Club, where he later became the club’s sporting director for two seasons in the third division, achieving remarkable results, including reaching the final match of the knockout rounds and obtaining second place in the league.

In 2019, he was named best sporting director in the third division by ADICOSP. He then took over the management of Modena, where he led the team to qualify for the playoffs, before moving to Pescara and then back to Piasica in October 2022. In 2024, he took over the management of Vicenza's sports area until reaching the final of the playoffs for promotion to Serie B, finishing the previous season in second place with 83 points.
