Matthias Geisel took over at Newcastle in August, where he made a promising start before results declined. The team has not been able to keep a clean sheet in its last 14 home matches, which reflects clear defensive problems that may affect their chances of improving their position in the league.

لماذا هذا مهم

Newcastle's defeat to Everton is a clear warning sign for the team, as they drop to 13th in the Premier League. The poor performance referred to by Karriger may affect the confidence of the players and increase the pressure on coach Matthias Geisel, who came with high expectations after his appointment.

Jamie Carriger described Newcastle's performance as "boring" after their shock 1-0 defeat to Everton on Monday night. Thierno Barry scored the only goal of the match in the second half, giving Everton its first victory away from home this season in the English Premier League. The Newcastle team was subjected to strong criticism from its fans, who expressed their dissatisfaction after the match, as the performance was below the required level.

Newcastle has dropped to thirteenth place in the league table, with only three wins from nine matches, and is preparing to face Fulham, which ranks last in the league, next Saturday.

“It's going to be a very difficult season for them,” Carragher said. “I felt like tonight's game was more important for Newcastle than the previous cup game they lost to Everton. It was a completely different story for Everton who were desperate for the title. “But I'm a little worried for Newcastle, it could be a long and difficult season.”

Coach Matthias Geisel took over last August, succeeding Eddie Howe, and made a promising start by achieving exciting draws against Liverpool and Bournemouth, in addition to a victory over Tottenham, but results quickly declined. Newcastle have been unable to keep a clean sheet in their last 14 matches at St James' Park, the longest run in the club's history.

Cariger added: “I've watched them recently, especially in their home games, they seem to be playing in a boring way, which is something I didn't think I would describe Newcastle as under Jessel. He comes from Red Bull's attacking style, but we didn't see any of that in tonight's game. I feel confused watching this. "

In a related context, Jessel acknowledged that the team’s performance was not at the required level, as the fans reacted negatively to the performance, and stressed that he bears responsibility for the result. “Unfortunately, we were not able to present our style of play throughout the 90 minutes,” Geisel said. This is something we are frustrated with. We had a different approach from the previous game, but it didn't work. If you can't perform when it matters most, you don't deserve to win.

"We weren't brave enough in possession. We used too many long balls, and we didn't use our system as well as we did against Everton. We need to work on improving our performance. After a game like this, I can understand why there were boos. That's the truth, and I'm responsible for that. We have to work hard to improve things."
