Chuameni talks about Dembele's role in the France national team
Aurelien Chuameni stressed the importance of Ousmane Dembélé in the France national team, noting that he is a key player and represents the team’s leader.
France midfielder Aurelien Chuameni spoke about the important role that striker Ousmane Dembélé plays in the national team. In France's first match of the 2026 World Cup against Senegal, Dembélé started the match but did not score any goals and was substituted in the 80th minute. "He is really a key member of the team. He is the one who laughs more than everyone, makes others feel at ease, is always in a good mood in the morning. On the field, he is the link between midfield and attack. He is the captain of our team. It is very lucky that we have a Ballon d'Or holder in our team. I don't know if people realize this, but it is great," Tchuameni confirmed, according to Actu Foot's account on the social networking site X. In the next rounds of the group stage, France will play against Iraq (June 23) and Norway (June 26).
