Haji Wright, the United States national team striker, will be out of action for up to 12 weeks due to a thigh injury, according to his Coventry City coach, Frank Lampard.

“He won't be available for a while, he has a serious thigh injury, which is frustrating for Haji and for us as a team,” Lampard said.

Wright, 28 years old, is considered an important player in the ranks of the US national team, as he participated in all of the team’s matches in the 2022 World Cup and in the 2026 World Cup. In the 2022 World Cup, Wright played four matches and scored a goal against the Netherlands in the elimination stage, while in 2026 he participated as a substitute in two matches, playing only two minutes in a match against Australia, and exiting in the last minute of the 4-1 loss to Belgium in the round of 16.

Wright impressed in the English Championship last season, scoring 17 goals and one assist in over 2,500 minutes played.
