Gianluca Mancini, Roma's centre-back, affirmed his complete loyalty to the club, indicating that Roma enters his heart and veins, in light of the rumors that spoke of Inter Milan's interest in signing him. Speaking to Gazzetta dello Sport, Mancini said: “Roma is my life. I promised myself last December that I would get a tattoo if we qualified for the Champions League, and SPQR is a beautiful inscription that embodies the relationship I have with the city and the club.”

These statements come at a sensitive time before the start of a new season, as Mancini looks forward to starting his eighth season with the Gyalurussian. There were some controversial statements from his agent, Beppe Riso, who referred to attempts to push Mancini to leave Roma, which sparked negative reactions in the capital. When asked about these statements, Mancini responded, saying: “My agent said he tried to get me out of Roma? He expresses his opinion, but in the end, the player is the one who decides, and he worked in my interest. I am not crazy, but you cannot control your heart.”

Mancini also addressed the issue of Inter Milan's interest in him, saying: "There is one well-known club that tried to contact me, but the rest are just rumors that flew with the wind. There were various attempts, but I did not give them much importance. Of course, I had only one year remaining in my contract, and there were two options: either renewing or parting ways. But I knew that the club and the coach still wanted to continue with me."

Speaking about the derby, Mancini pointed out that his goals in the last derby are moments that he will always remember, and when asked if he represented a nightmare for Lazio fans, he replied: “Nightmare is a big word. The last derby was good for me, but I did not imagine that I would score two goals. Before that, I felt like I had done my duty, like when scoring goals against Milan or Juventus.”

Regarding future challenges, Mancini expressed caution about the possibility of competing for the Scudetto title, saying: “We need to work hard. You cannot reach the Scudetto challenge overnight. We must be honest. The most important thing is to continue with strength and consistency, and if things go bad, we must not give up.”

Regarding the Champions League, Mancini confirmed that he aspires to achieve this achievement, as he said: “It is the culmination of my football career, and it has always been my dream. I won it years ago in Bergamo, then I came to Rome, and hearing the music makes me proud. I can’t wait.”

What's next?

Mancini is expected to start his eighth season with Roma, as he seeks to achieve new goals with the team in the Italian League. Also, Mancini's continuation in the Gyalurussian ranks may enhance the team's chances of competing for the top positions in Serie A.
